First establish in 1940 by the Zorbas family, Avdis Ranch operations began in North Sacramento, what is now known as Natomas. As emigrants from Tripolis, Greece, the Zorba family ranched sheep and cattle in the traditions of the old-country, maintaining a fairly simple process based on all natural, pasture raised techniques.

In the 1970s and 1980s, the Avdis side of the family slowly took over the cattle and sheep operations of the ranch. Today, Nick Avdis, along with his wife Nikki and two young children, continue the decade’s long commitment to ranching in the traditions of the previous generations, a dedication to the animals and a commitment to the sustainable use of the land.

Avdis Ranch is proud to be the only commercial cattle operation within the city limits of Sacramento, the farm to fork capital.  Our cattle is entirely pasture raised, 100% natural and grass fed and finished. We do not use any hormones supplements or feed antibiotics on any of our animals.
